He was predeceased by: his parents, Theresa Farkas (Sochon) and John Farkas. He is survived by: his children, Andrew Farkas of Nashua, NH, Amy Farkas of Torrington, Jay Farkas of Colebrook and Brett Farkas (Jaymee) of Bantam; his grandson Brett Jr.; his close friends, Erika Carter and Mimi Kalenauskas of Torrington; his sister Diane Kozlak of Cocoa, FL.; his pets, Thema, Khloe, Zora and Skippy; and also Will of Torrington.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to The Colebrook Historical Society at P.O. Box 85, Colebrook, CT 06021.

“Dearest Farkas Children; I cannot express in mere words how saddened both Arden & I are to hear of your dad's passing. He is an amazing human being, and Arden & I are much better people having had the opportunity of calling him our friend and companion! I have never seen a man love his children and his animals the way John loved each and every one of you! I will most assuredly celebrate his life in the next coming days with old photos, story times and such! His love will live on! Kelly Kuchta”
