It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Starkweather (Colchester, Connecticut), who passed away on August 22, 2019, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Nelkin and Eleanore Nelkin (Niemi); her husband Donald T. Starkweather; and her siblings, Sylvalea Ralph, Maxine Snell, Frank Nelkin, Minnette Standish and Helen Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Caryl Estes (Rene E. King) of Maine, Stephen Starkweather (Joan) of New Jersey and Lyann Starkweather of New York; her grandchildren, Christine Estes Burton (James Moffa) of Florida, John Estes (Susan) of New York, Karyn Estes-Lewis (Ryan) of Maine, Stacy Gradaille of Florida and Scott Starkweather of Florida; her great great grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew, Emma Estes, Alexa Starkweather and Kevin Gradaille; and her niece Lynda Verrill. She is also survived by the third of six siblings.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Colchester Hayward Volunteer Fire Company, 52 Old Hartford Road, Colchester, CT 06415.
