It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys D. Scovel of Chester, Connecticut, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter A. Diestel and Odella Diestel (Reeh); and her brothers, Peter and John Diestel. She is survived by: her husband Edward S. Scovel, Jr.; her children, David Scovel (Linda) of Higganum, Suzanne Morello of Middletown and Nancy LaMonica (Stephen) of Higganum; and her grandchildren, Ed (Jessica), Kristen (Kyle), Josiah, Cody, Sam, Rocco (Aubrey), Stephanie (Luke) and Jenna (Michael). She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
