He was predeceased by: his parents, Miron Kostin and Florence Goldfarb (Trisinsky); his brother-in-law William Flaherty; and his adoptive father John Chapin (David Ortiz). He is survived by: his wife Joan Kostin (Flaherty); his daughters, Susan (Ethan Washburn) and Shannon Kostin (Robert Beringer); his granddaughter Abigail Beringer; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Flaherty (Elizabeth Lalik) and Robert Flaherty; and his adoptive father Gregory Chapin (Evan Kennedy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
