She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Tillinghast and Veda Tillinghast (Herbert); her husband Harold "Skip" Dexter; and her siblings, Aubrey Tillinghast and Leah Gray. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, their spouses and children.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Moosup Valley Congregational Church or the Moosup Valley Fire Department.
