He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carol York of Canton; his children, Austin York (Leah Gooden), Andrew York (Katie) and Shelby Barnhart (Jesse); his mother Irene Cizman; his sister Margaret Ray; his siblings-in-law, Dick Ray, Rick and Gail Granger; his father-in-law Gordon Granger; his nieces and nephews, Chris, Tim Granger, Dan and Allison Ray; his father David York; and his stepfather William Cizman.

Steve was my best man at my wedding and I at his. An honor and privilege. I always regretted not having a better speech prepared for my toast to carol and Steve but they were meant to be!”
