He is survived by: his wife Doris Surprenant (Mathieu); his sons, James R. Surprenant (Teresa) of Canterbury and John R. Surprenant (Rebecca) of Canterbury; his granddaughter Allison; and his sisters, Jacqueline Engblom of Brooklyn and Genevieve Bessette of Lisbon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
