He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Ruuskanen and Helmi Ruuskanen (Kasanen); and his sister Hilkka Ruuskanen Guglielmi. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his nephew Steven Guglielmi; his great-nephews, Mario Guglielmi and Luke Bertero; and his friend Ellen Gillon.
