He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson and Irene Nelson (Grabham); and his siblings, Eleanor Crisculo, John and Albert Nelson.

He is survived by: his children, Erik Nelson of Thomaston, Mark Nelson (Kristina) of Burlington and Sara Pellegrini (Greg) of Newington; his brother David Nelson (Della); and his grandchildren, Jake, Gabriel and Jacquelyn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
