She was predeceased by: her parents, George H. Darling and Doris Darling (Smith) of Mystic, CT.; her husband Eugene E. Bassette; her sister Toni Shearston of California; her brother-in-law Roy Smith; and her grandson Marcus Ballaro.
She is survived by: her children, Gary (Laurie) of Brooklyn, Andre (Carol) and Lisa Bassett of New Hampshire; her granddaughters, Kristin Zurek (Brandon), Jordan Dabkowski (Daniel) and Erica; her great grandchildren, Rosanna Zurek and Emilia Dabkowski; and her sisters, Marjorie Smith of Georgia and Linda Bramblett (Jerry) of Georgia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
