We are sad to announce that on June 13, 2018, Bernard A. Macdonald (Brooklyn, Connecticut), born in Lowell, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his brother Somerled; his wife Elinor of Brooklyn, CT; his son Stephen A. (Karen Bate) of Arlington, VA; his grandchildren, Catherine (Thomas Nash) of Richmond, VA, Amanda of Austin, TX, Julia Barnett of Harvey Cedars, NJ, Dylan Barnett and Jessie of Summit, NJ.; and also, Stephen Sara, Ann Sara and Baldridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations in Bernie's name to PEN America supporting their mission to celebrate creative expression and defend the liberties that make it possible.
