He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Vane and Mary Vane (Corso). He is survived by: his wife Gitta Vane (Paetsch); his friend John Kermashek; his sons, Robert Lane (Fiona), Thomas Lane, Daniel Vane and Neil Vane; his grandchildren, Amber, Nicholas, Louis, Sophia, Callie, Jamie and Sean; and his great grandchild Jaxson.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
