He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Ortiz and Maria Ortiz (Cerra). He is survived by: his wife Maria Ocasio; his children, Victor, Brian Ortiz of Puerto, Arline and Glanda Ortiz of Puerto Rico; and his stepchildren, Luis Ocasio, Angel Romero, Aleida Alicea and Darlene Mercado. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
