Ronald James Unkrich Obituary

Ronald James Unkrich - a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend - of Bristol, CT passed away on June 19, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old.

Born January 7, 1939 in New York City, son of Harry and Alice Unkrich (Keena),

Ron is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter Lauri Kalpakian and her husband Basilio of Keene, NH; son Matthew Unkrich and his wife Jennifer of Costa Mesa, CA; Mark Unkrich and his wife Tonya of Bristol, CT; grandchildren, Robby, Josh, Andrew, Kaitlin and Caleb; and sister, Mary Beth Unkrich of Old Saybrook, CT.

Ron was a proud Marine and was an electrician by trade. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed swimming and golf. He competed in swimming events in the Senior Olympics where he won 3 medals. He was a swim coach with Bristol Splash and loved having the opportunity to coach the local kids. He also loved golf and was a long-time member of Pequabuck Golf Course, who honored him with a Lifetime Membership in 2020.

There will be a private memorial service for family only. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to support the Bristol Splash Swim Team through the Manning Sisson Memorial Fund https://www.mainstreetfoundation.org.
