He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Burch and Diane Burch (Durst); his siblings, John Avritch and Rhoda Wrobleski; and his stepdaughter Susan Statkiewicz.
He is survived by: his wife Doris "Dory" Avritch (Brown); his sons, Peter Avritch, Bruce Avritch (Alina), Steven Avritch (Valerie) and Matthew Avritch (Christy); his nephew Charlie Wrobelski; his stepchildren, Coe "Toby" Hawkins III (Jessica) and Julie Hawkins; and his son-in-law John Statkiewicz. He is also survived by Six grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
