He was predeceased by: his father Pedro Velez; and his brother Michael Velez. He is survived by: his mother Lucila Casiano; his stepfather Carlos Gil; his siblings, Luis Velez and Annette Velez; his children, Tara Velez, Brian and Emmanuel Velez; and his grandchildren, Ajah Homar, Neison Homar Jr., Serenity Velez and Isaac Velez. He is also survived by great-granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
