He is survived by: his wife Diana "Dee" Valerio-Matyka; his children, Erik Matyka of Terryville, Kristin Wojenski (Steven) of Bristol and Michael Valerio (Amy) of Bristol; and his grandchildren, Molly, Colby Wojenski, Maximilian and Mason Valerio.
