He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Buchas and Veronica Buchas (H'Lavati); and his brother Robert Buchas. He is survived by: his wife Joan Buchas (Morel); his sons, James Buchas of Bristol, CT and Joe Buchas of Terryville; his grandchildren, Sarah, Kasey, Sean, Corey and Jessica; his nephew Robert Buchas; and his niece Julie Butryman.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
