He is survived by: his children, Wanda Ivette Hernández of Bristol, Damaris Hernández of New Haven, Hector Luís Hernández of Rio Piedras and José Luís Hernández of New Haven; and his siblings, Rosa Maria Hernández, Nitza Hernández (Isaura Hernández), Puerto Rico (Ramona Hernández), Carlos Hernández and Orlando Díaz Colón of Rio Piedras. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
