He is survived by: his wife Esther Masteller; and his children, Ruth Teske (Brian) of Southington, Esther "Ileane" Elliotte of Deltona, FL and James Burkhart Jr. (Sandy) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
