He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Sturgeon and Harriet Sturgeon (Gainer); his brothers, Donald and David; and his son-in-law Ronald Phillip Piwonski.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Sturgeon (Johnson); his daughter Ellen Harriet Sturgeon; his son-in-law David Arthur Tedesco; his grandsons, Joshua Everett Piwonski and Ryan Phillip Piwonski; and his sister Helen Jordan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
