It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Francis McElwee of Bristol, Connecticut, born in New Britain, Connecticut, who passed away at the age of 74, on October 9, 2020. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Michael McElwee and Catherine McElwee (Sheehy); his wife Mary; his son Michael; his daughter-in-law Rebecca; his granddaughters, Amelia and Annabel of Bristol, CT; his daughter Catie; his son-in-law Richard Steinmetz of Northbridge, MA; his daughter Marianne; his son-in-law Joel Attardo of Plymouth, MA.; and his sister Eileen Flaherty (Joseph). He was also cherished by nieces and a nephew.

Burial will be private. Relatives and friends attending calling hours and funeral services are asked to follow CDC recommendations for COVID prevention by observing social distancing and wearing face masks.
