He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Archibald and La Vera Van Vessem (Smith); his stepfather James Van Vessem; his sister Suzanne Pearl; and his brother-in-law Edward Stanton.
He is survived by: his wife Lynne Archibald (Stacey); his children, Michael Archibald (Jason Dionne) of Portland, ME, Jill Archibald of Cranston, RI, Janice Archibald of Ellington and Brian Archibald (Kathleen) of Bristol; his brother Jack Archibald (Kathy) of Rochester, NY; his grandsons, Lance and Lincoln Archibald; and his sister-in-law Kim Cassella of Hamilton, MA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
