He was predeceased by: his parents, Fraser Hanscom and Demaris Hanscom (Smith); his daughter Pearl Hanscom; and his stepson Albert Sonier. He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Hanscom, Sr. of Florida and Shawn Hanscom of Bristol; his stepdaughters, Lisa Reek of Wolcott and Lori Blais of Thomaston; his siblings, James Hanscom of Wisconsin, Douglas Hanscom of Maryland, Sandra Salmoiraghi (Sam) of Florida, Ella Mae Klimkewicz of Bristol and Vicki Lynn Brinley of Norwich; his grandchildren, Daniel Hanscom, Jr., James Reek, Cameron Blais (Emma), Connor Sandino (Jordan), Jacob Hanscom (Antonia), Courtney, Bethany, David Reek and Calli Hanscom; and his great grandchildren, Connor, Wyatt, Christian and Emily. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Funk Funeral Home (35 Bellevue Ave, Bristol, CT 06010).
