He was predeceased by: his close friend Lillian Cruz. He is survived by: his children, Wilma Valentin (Oswaldo), Vilma Miranda, Jose R. Torres (Milagros Torres) and David Morales (Cristiana Goncalves). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
