He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ramon Batista Varona, Norma Ruiz Algarin and Sandra Ruiz Algarin; and his parents, Rafael Batista Varona and Genara Algarin.
He is survived by: his wife Angelina R. Batista of Branford; his children, Ivette Batista of Branford, Rafael Batista Jr. of Branford and Edward Batista of Cheshire; his daughter-in-law Ana Batista; his grandchildren, Angelina Batista, Gabriela Batista and Dana Biondi; and his siblings, Gonzalo Ruiz Algarin, Sonia Ruiz Algarin of Puerto Rico and Jose Ruiz Algarin of West Haven.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the W.'s. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home (244 N Main St, Branford, CT 06405).
