He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Robert L. Walker and Robert E. Henry; his uncle Robert E. Henry, Jr.; and his aunt Helen E. Spence. He is survived by: his parents, Rev. Robert and Donna Walker of Darien, CT; his brother Brandon Walker; his grandmothers, Eileen P. Walker of Tulsa, OK and Evelyn S. Henry of Atlanta, GA; his aunts, Patricia Walker, Margaret and Millie; and his uncle Brian Allen of Roanoke, VA.
After graduating from SCSU, Matthew worked as a substance abuse counselor at Turning Point Foundation in New Haven, CT.
