Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Katherine leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Schmidt and Mary Schmidt; her sister Mary Lou Anderson; and her children, Thomas McGwire (Carrolline), Charles McGwire (Jessica) and Brett McGwire (Maria).

She is survived by: her husband Tad McGwire; her siblings, Pam Sheehan (Bob), Karen Landane (Scott) and Louis Schmidt (Mary); her sister-in-law Polly Cosmedy (Rich); and her grandson Matias Saenz McGwire. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home (244 N Main St, Branford, CT 06405). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Of St. John Bosco Parish.
