He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hansen and Helen Norton Hansen; his stepdaughter Roberta Kirschner; and his brother Alfred Hansen. He is survived by: his wife Paulette Best Hansen; his children, Debbie Sorber (Mason) of Branford and Rich Hansen (Trish) of Branford; his stepdaughter Fran Villella-Raboin (Darin) of Bristol; and his grandchildren, Vincent, Robert Villella, Rebecca Tuttle, Crystal, Kaitie Sorber, Richard and Kevin Jette. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
