He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. McArdle and Mary McArdle (Gaffney); and his brothers, Christopher and Terence. He is survived by: his wife Carmelle Kennedy McArdle; his sons, James F. McArdle III of Brooklyn, NY and Conor K. McArdle of Bozrah; his grandchildren, Fionna and Gavin McNamara; and his siblings, Margaret McArdle of Ocala, FL and Robert McArdle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at Pancan.org.
