He was predeceased by: his parents, Burt Prude and Mattie Lee Prude; his siblings, Irene, Lula V. Prude, Oscar and Donald Prude; and his nephews, Bernard Jr. and Henry Prude.

He is survived by: his son Paul Payne; and his sisters, Artha B. Prude, Mattie M. Prude, Bertha L. Watson of Hartford, CT and Ruthies Prude of Windsor, CT. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
