It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julia Elizabeth Rankins of Bloomfield, Connecticut, who passed away on January 23, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornelius Spencer and Annie Spencer (Whitehead); her former husband Thomas Jones; her siblings, Robert Spencer and Maude McCullough; and her close friend Clyde Hicks.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Hammond of Rowlett, TX, Patricia Nelson (Robert) of Bloomfield and Hassana Ali of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Carolyn White (Shedrick) of Rowlet, TX, William Jones of Charlotte, NC and Christopher Hammond, Jr. (Denise); her goddaughter Karla Taylor of Southport, SC; and her friend Carolyn Rodgers of Peekskill, NY. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
