She was predeceased by: her parents, John Bates and Elton Frisby Bates; her friend Robert "Bobby" Redman; and her siblings, John Bates Jr., Frank Bates, Helen McCaullen, Iris of Washington, Parthenia Stephens, Carol Biggs, Roberta Brown, Barbara Ann Blowe, Janet Woodward and Betty Bates.
She is survived by: her daughters, Charlene McBroom, Robetta Redman, Shelly (Will) of Washington, Leona Redman and Vanessa Reaves; her grandchildren, Jeremy McBroom (Felena), Timothy Parker, Autumn Sevarino (Brian), Corey Closs, April McBroom, Robert Closs, Chad of Washington, Camry Redman-Brown and Bria of Washington; her great grandchildren, Trinity McBroom, Zoe of Washington, Bryson Sevarino and Malia Sevarino; and her siblings, Joseph Bates (Karen), Jerry Bates, Joyce Hendricks (Richard) and Donna Hawley. She is also survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
