He was predeceased by: his father Henry Lamont Taylor; his grandchildren, John Arthur Taylor, III and Raven Simone Taylor; and his cousin Bruce Brentley of Detroit, MI.. He is survived by: his mother Vera Mae Thoams; his wife Katherine Taylor of Bloomfield, CT; his children, John A. Taylor, Jr. (Linda) of Bloomfield, CT, Henry L. Gamble (Carlissa) of Manchester, CT, James A. Taylor Sr. (Ivette) of Manchester, CT and Donna S. Taylor (Stacey) of Hartford, CT.; his stepchildren, Johnathan Goodson Wright, Joy Goodson Wright (Steven), Jelenne Parker (James), Jacquelynne Williams, Kimberly Clyburn and Geneva Parker; and his stepgrandchildren, Grace Goodson Wright, Noami Parker and Noah Clyburn. He is also survived by grandchildren and seven biological great-grandchildren.
