He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McDermott and Helen McDermott (Rush); and his siblings, Richard McDermott, Nancy Lombard, Thomas McDermott and Harold McDermott.
He is survived by: his spouse Fernanda S. "Amanda" McDermott (Martins); his children, Jamie Kingsley (George) of Morris and James H. McDermott of Naugatuck; his grandchildren, Chester and Celeste Kingsley; and his sister Rosemary McDermott of Waynesville, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
