He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mayer and Ruth Mayer; and his sister Margaret Evans. He is survived by: his wife Jane K. Mayer; his daughters, Cynthia Sygrove (Jim) of East Haven and Barbara Gengarelly (Rick) of Hamden; his grandchildren, Jonathan Sygrove of Newington and Kaitlyn Thunig (Doug) of New Jersey; and his sister Elizabeth Willard.
