He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Gustafson and Claire Gustafson (Molusky); his wife Carmela M. Gustafson (Uccello); his brothers, Richard Gustafson (Eleanor) and Robert Gustafson (Joan); and his siblings-in-law, Vincenza Uccello, Antonina Uccello (Ann), Virgilia U. Martini (Alfred) and Stephen Romaine.
He is survived by: his children, David J. Gustafson (Jacqueline) of West Hartford and Laura A. Sweeney (William Grant) of Simsbury; his grandchildren, James R. Sweeney of Westminster, CO and Alison M. Bell (Christian) of Oakland, FL.; his brother Ronald Gustafson (Rose) of Manchester; his sister-in-law Nellie U. Romaine of Bloomfield; and his caregiver Luda.
