Michel, Sr. of Ansonia; his wife Tammy Michel of Ansonia; his children, Eric Lapke (Jessica Chaney) of Beacon Falls, Justin Lapke (Alicia Paliotti) of Waterbury and Melissa Michel of Ansonia; his brothers, Thomas Michel, Richard Michel (Shelly) and David Michel; and his grandchildren, Tristyn Lapke, Brianna Lapke, Alayna Michel, Benjamin Alvarado and Emylee Lapke. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
