It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy A. Burns of Ansonia, Connecticut, who passed away on September 3, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Richard M. Burns; and her parents, Charles Fredrick and Ruth Olson (Jacobson). She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Simon (Michael), Maureen Sawn (Thomas) and Dorothy Sergi (John); her grandchildren, Sam, Caroline, Matthew, Olivia, Hannah and Grace; her cousin Susan Hackett (Erhardt); her siblings-in-law, Irene Brown (David) and Peter Burns (Patricia); and her caregivers, Sharon, Betty and Diane. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Assumption Church, or to The Griffin Hospital Development Fund.
