She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles P. Sheppard Sr. and Grace N. Sheppard (Taylor); and her siblings, Charles P. Sheppard Jr. and Lucille Rantanen. She is survived by: her husband James F. Aikens Sr.; her children, James F. Aikens Jr. (April), Donna L. Reed (John) and David M. Aikens (Dana); her grandchildren, Benjamin Reed, Kayla Reed, Andrew Reed, Brittany Aikens, Nick Takaki, Rachel Aikens and Tanner Aikens; and her great grandchild Mason Lourenco. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
