He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewald Mattheis and Thelma Mattheis (Sherwood); his daughter Stephanie; and his cousins, LeRoy Metzinger, Larry Mattheis and KC.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Mann; his aunts, Barbara Thimsen of Pierre and Beverly Rupkalvis of Grand Island; and his sisters-in-law, Karen Sladek (Ed) of Chambers, Kendra Mann of Kirk and Kellie Mann of Garden City. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
