James Edward Heffner Obituary

James Edward Heffner, 68, departed this earth peacefully and surrounded by his family. Jim enrolled as an US Air Force Academy cadet at seventeen and graduated as a second lieutenant. After an Air Force career in computer systems and acquisitions, he retired as a Lt. Colonel.

Jim spent most of his retirement in Woodland Park, CO and coached Park and Rec youth soccer for years, as he was an avid soccer player all of his life. He enjoyed running and he loved his animals.

He is survived by his wife of almost 46 years, his two daughters, his son-in-law, his three grandsons, two brothers, and one sister.

At his request, no service will be held. Jim will be buried at the United States Air Force Academy cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Teller County Regional Animal Shelter/TCRAS in honor of Jim and his love of cats.
