He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lionel Nelson and Hilda Nelson; his wife Ruth; his children, Lori Careswell (Monty) of Loveland, CO, Paul Nelson, Steve Nelson (Kelly), Linda Lama (Philip) and Mark Nelson; and his siblings, Gordon Nelson of Lakota, ND, Hildegarde Reineke of Fargo, ND. and Laurence Nelson. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made in Clayton's name to one of the following organizations: The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (NPCF), The Bethel Lutheran Church Youth Ministries in Windsor, CO or the Lakota, ND High School Future Farmers of America Chapter.
