He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John, Violet Anderson, Meinard and Dolores Sand; his sister-in-law Dana Van; his aunt Jean Anderson Hruby; and his uncles, Philip Anderson, Brian Sand and John LeClair (Butch).

He is survived by: his parents, Paul Sand and Lana Sand (Anderson) of Rosholt, SD.; his children, Nevina, Mataya and Dominic; his wife Sonja; his siblings, Benjamin Sand (Natalie) and Mara Walter (Seth); his parents-in-law, Albert and Marceil Braun; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Jaime, Joel (Carol), Stephen Braun (Julie) and Suzanne Maassel (Aaron). He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
