He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Tafoya and Teresa Tafoya (Sandoval); his wife Della Tafoya; his granddaughter Shanna Garcia; his siblings, Tony, Alex Tafoya and Virginia Garcia; and his brothers-in-law, Tommy and Ronnie Martinez.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Mendoza (Tony) of Denver, Michelle Torrez (Troy) of Greeley, Elizabeth Torrez (Robert) of Las Animas, Ralph Tafoya, Jr. (Amanda) of Greeley, David Tafoya (Stephanie) of Colorado Springs, Scott Tafoya of La Junta, Donna Lopez of Greeley and Wanda Tafoya of La Junta; his siblings, Max, Sam, Simon Tafoya, Marina Tanner, Frances Martinez and Delores Tafoya; and his grandchildren, Bobby Garcia, Cruz Torrez, Erica Torrez, Emilio Torrez, Salvador Tafoya, Tia Chavarria, Xavier Tafoya, Jesus Garcia, Jr. (Alejandra), Abelardo Lopez, Victoria Saenz, E'Tatherina Brock, Ameya Brock, Gabriella, Hema Tafoya, Ethan Torrez, Shay and Ezra Tafoya. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
