He is survived by: his brother Albert; his significant other Patricia Trujillo; his children, Taren Michael Stevan Trujillo Jr., Patricia Trujillo, Joseph Michael Trujillo III, Daniel and Shayne Andrew Trujillo; and his stepdaughter Stephanie Brent. He is also survived by several brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He eventually was employed by Foundation Coal, and Peabody Energy as a Coal Miner.
