With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Marie Wertz of Vernon, Colorado, born in Palisade, Colorado, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 2, 2024 at the age of 93. As Sharon departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sharon may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sharon leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Keeney and Virginia Keeney (Griffeth); her husband Leroy Wertz; and her brother Vernon Keeney, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Connie Bunte, Cindy Herman (Ted), Brad Wertz (Debbie), Bryon Wertz (Cathy) and Carolyn Hudson (Steve); and her sister Rita Harris. She is also survived by 9 grand children; 8 great grand children; 1 great-great grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Bible Church (629 27 1/2 Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81506). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
