He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Kiddle Brooks and Mary Isabella Baxter; his siblings, Walter Baxter, Rosa Isabella, Norma Jane and Walt; his wife Arvella Sue (Sue); and his former wife Bertha Katherina Ferguson.

He is survived by: his children, Karen Voss (Randal), William Kent (Brenda), Janet Jay (Robert), Cathleen Irons (Charles), Stephen Richard (Allison), David Charles (Jessica) and Jonathan Walter.
