Ruth E. Prokop Obituary

Ruth Ellen Prokop (Carlson) unexpectedly passed away August 22, 2021. Born July 5, 1952 to Marion and Ruby Carlson in Clarksburg, West Virgina. Ruth was an adventurer, made her way through the states, spending most of her time in Cleveland, Ohio and then permanently locating in Colorado. Ruth's greatest accomplishments were becoming a mother to her son, Jerry Prokop, becoming a grandmother to 3 beautiful granddaughters and a great grandmother to 2 amazing grandchildren.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, playing with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She enjoyed getting her nails done at the local nail salon, playing and walking with her puppy, Bull, and visiting the Saratoga at Blackhawk. Ruth is survived by her husband, Dennis Thompson; her son, Jerry Prokop; her granddaughters, Leanna, Alawna and Lelana Prokop; and her great grandchildren, Brenton and Madison Huckfeldt.

Ruth was always such a selfless, generous and kind hearted soul. You will forever be in our hearts, Mamaw. A memorial service for Ruth will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Following services, a reception will be held at VFW Post 7945, 10217 Quivas St, Thornton, CO 80260.
