She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Ligons-Hughes and Annie Ligons-Hughes; her friends, Itaska Bland-Wilson, Ruth Lucas and Betty Minton-Ross; her siblings, Ruth Campbell, Charles Leavelle, Julia Jones, Robert Hughes, Grady Hughes and Fred Hughes; her children, Leah Houston, Samuel Houston, Miriam Houston-Holmes, Seba Houston, Rachelle Houston, Deborah Houston-Hayes and Ruth McKinney; and her grandchildren, Kai Dennis, Kendall Duckworth, Keith Walker, Tycie Holmes, Tori Holmes, Robert Hayes Jr. Stephen Hayes, Mykayla Searles-Houston, Lamar McKinney, Crystal Jones, Cyneetha Anderson, Chareese Windom, Terraye Windom, Lloyd Windom and Travis Windom.

She is survived by: her friends, Bernice Mason and Lylaus Keyes.
